Lelanters 1770-1771 |

|
This
contains people listed in 1771-1772 in the Lelant poor book, the accounts of
the Lelant |
|
parish overseers of
the poor (CRO P/120/12/1). |
|
|
The
recipients are the people who received payments from the parish. They are
both paupers |
receiving
allowances for their everyday and special needs and people who received
payments |
for
their work for the parish, including looking after the sick or providing
goods and services. |
|
The
ratepayers are those listed in the poor book who paid rates to the parish
levied on their land |
and
property. For some ratepayers the location of their land is specified: these
are mainly outside the |
village
and those who have no land listed are probably living in Lelant village. The
officials are |
|
those
responsible for collecting in and paying out the money and verifying and
authorising |
|
the
accounts. Note that the family members of the recipients and ratepayers are
not listed here |
or in the original poor book. |
|
|
The
original poor book covers 1770-1802 and gives the amounts paid to and by the
parish and |
in many of
the latter cases the purposes of the payments. |
