Introductory notes
This is a list of christenings which took place at St Uny's church in Lelant. St Uny's is the parish church.  Christenings before 1813 are from the bishop's 
transcripts and from 1813 onwards are from the church baptism register.
In 1798 the last baptism entry in the bishop's transcript is for September and in 1805 for November.
An asterisk * against a child's forename name indicates that the register records him or her as illegitimate. The different priests use different terms for this: illegitimate,
base born (BB), single woman, and base child.
A plus sign + against a child's forename means there is additional information at the bottom of the list.
Surnames are written in capitals.
Registers before 1813 give only the names of the child and parents and the date of baptism. After that date the parents' abode and the father's work are also given.
Parents: the surname of the parent(s) is not given in this list where it is the same as that of the person being christened. 
Day, Month, and Year: the day and month and year of the baptism.
Work: of the father as in the register.
Abode: of the parents as in the register.  From 29 October 1825 the abode is recorded in the register in more detail.
Notes: any additional information from the register.
Christian and Wilmot are female forenames. Jenepher, Jenifrea etc are modern Je(n)nifer.  As now, Francis is male and Frances female.
Children were sometimes given a surname as a second forename. The ones that end in the letter s and are based on a forename are
accurate forenames not mistakes; for example Richard Johns BECKERLEG and Ann Stevens COOPER.
The spellings of names, places, and work are as in the registers except where specifically noted; but see below for additional information about addresses.
From 1783 the forename Elizabeth appears to be spelt Elisabeth: I cannot tell whether this is a genuine spelling change or an eccentric symbol for z. 
Words in quotation marks are ipsissima verba from the register.
Comments in square brackets are mine and not in the original register.
